Sandi

Sandi Thomas

I was born in Stockport and in 1997 gained a Nat. Dip in Foundation in Art and Design and won an award for outstanding performance.
In 2000 I graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Crafts from Manchester University, Alsager, Stoke on Trent where I worked with textiles, ceramics, wood and metal and was shortlisted for the jewellery design awards by The Royal Society of Arts, London.
I became a self-employed artist/maker and moved to West Wales. I went on to work with a mental health team in Blackpool in 2002, then as a Senior Learning Co-ordinator for Adults with Autism. Based in a working pottery I taught ceramics and used art as one of the many tools for communication, self-esteem and creative expression.
I came to Cornholme in 2007 and am currently working with our mother earth for healing, growing food and creative expression, I am exploring methods of permaculture, volunteering in our local community and learning to play the frame drum.
