Guest teachers will share their craft with us at one session each – dates to be confirmed.
Filomena Ianni – The Taranta Dream Guest Teacher
(Chartered Counselling Psychologist (BPS)
Dip. Clinical Supervision,
Adv.Dip. ERT (Embodied Relational Therapy)
The tradition Filomena will share is called Taranta – with music and dances that have been generated out of it over time. This is how Filomena describes it:
“This was originally a healing ritual, which offered a channel for ‘madness’ through dancing to the drum in the community. It’s very dream-like and it is a dream for me to bring it out in myself and to share it.“
Jayne Johnson – The Shamanic Drumming Guest Teacher
Jayne Johnson has worked in the field of Shamanism for 12 years and has experience of running workshops and groups as well as one to one sessions. She runs 4 drumming circles in Blackburn, Settle and Garstang, a 1 year Shamanic training ‘A Year on the Shamanic Medicine Wheel’ and various other co facilitated workshops such as the series of ‘Wild Woman Workshops’ and ‘Natures Way’.
This will be an evening to experience the use of the frame drum for Shamanic journeying. You will be guided by experienced Shamanic practitioner Jayne Johnson, who will use the frame drum as a vehicle for providing the space and energy for you to enter the realms of the Shamanic worlds. No previous Shamanic experience is necessary.
